Over five days in Málaga, Nicolás will take on one subject: contrast. Each day will look at a different kind, from tone, saturation and hue to temperature and detail, with a new model to paint every day.
For one week, his work will no longer be something you admire on a screen. You’ll get to paint inside it.

About Nicolás Uribe
Nicolás Uribe was born in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1977, and lives and works in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York and graduated with honours, receiving the school’s Outstanding Achievement Medal. Painting soon became his main work. He has had numerous solo exhibitions in the United States and South America, and his paintings have also been shown in Mexico, Spain and Egypt.
He paints the human figure in a loose, expressive way, with bold colour and brushwork that stays visible on the canvas. Teaching is a big part of his life. He teaches figure drawing and painting at the Faculty of Arts of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, runs workshops at Blank Atelier, and travels to teach painters in many countries. Thousands of people also follow him online, where he shares his process openly. In May 2027 he comes to Málaga for a week with CREÆTICA.
