Creætica’s Tertulias arise from a shared concern: we live in an interesting moment, full of possibilities, with tools for transformation that are almost limitless—yet the desire and capacity to reflect seem to fade, and depth of thought to vanish. Is it haste that keeps us from listening? Is it the overuse of social media that makes us ignore the value of gathering to talk, to debate, to share, to imagine new possibilities together?

A tertulia is a Spanish tradition of informal yet meaningful gatherings, where people come together to talk, debate, share ideas, and reflect collectively. Unlike a formal lecture or meeting, a tertulia is closer to a salon: conversational, participatory, and often held in cafés or cultural spaces. It is about exchanging perspectives in a relaxed setting, nurturing both thought and community.

The tertulias emerge as a living space for conversation and creation, echoing those initiatives that, a century ago, filled cafés and cultural circles. There, voices like Lorca—sharing his first poems—or José Echegaray—bridging science and literature—showed that multidisciplinary thought could both inspire and transform. These were places where artists, scientists, economists, philosophers, and citizens gathered to debate and sow ideas that would shape an era.
